Huawei ICT Academy expands in Philippines with 15 new partner schools

Huawei Philippines continues to develop, build and strengthen the local ICT talent ecosystem as it welcomes 15 new partner universities and colleges to Huawei ICT Academy. PH telcos conduct successful technical interoperability tests of MNP

The Philippines’ major Mobile Network Operators (MNO) namely DITO, Globe and Smart Communications are one with the government in the implementation of the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Act and through their joint venture company, Telecommunications Connectivity Inc. (TCI), the three telcos successfully concluded the initial tests of their technical capabilities and interoperability July 14. The joint effort will soon allow customers the option to keep their mobile numbers permanently, even when they change network providers or switch subscriptions. Against the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic, the MNOs said the outcome of these initial technical tests is ‘within expectations’. 'Online Filipino workers' and the growth of the PH digital gig economy

The Philippines’ economic growth continues to take a hit as the country grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic in one of the longest lockdowns in the world. A July report from Moody’s Analytics tapered its growth forecast for the Philippines, predicting its gross domestic product (GDP) to grow by 4.9 percent at the end of the year compared to its 5.3 percent estimate in May.
